The Escuela Hispanoamericana is Melbourne’s only community-based not-for-profit school teaching Spanish language and Hispano-American culture to primary and secondary students, serving the community for 40 years.
Our mission is to keep Spanish alive, by providing children quality learning to all in a Spanish-speaking community with Spanish language classes and activities in a professional educational environment.
We are currently based at Carwatha College in Noble Park North, we are supported by the Department of Education and Training and accredited by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority as a single language provider of VCE Spanish.
In 2022, the school achieved the highest VCE Spanish scoring result in Victoria!

The Program
There is a staff, student ratio of 1:15 with classes intentionally kept small in order to provide individual attention and personalised instruction to create an encouraging and supportive environment for students to learn while having fun and making new friends.
- Spanish classes every Friday evening 6pm to 9pm during Victorian school terms.

What age groups and levels do you cater to?
We offer Spanish language classes for students from Foundation (primary school) to Year 12 VCE. Our program is designed to provide quality learning and individualized attention for children at every stage, whether they’re just starting out or preparing for their VCE Spanish exams.
What are the class times and fees?
Classes are held every Friday evening during Victorian school terms from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The schedule includes a short break. The fee is $220 per child per term, offering great value for money with small class sizes and personalized instruction.
Do I need prior Spanish knowledge to enroll?
No prior Spanish knowledge is required to enroll in our Foundation classes. Our classes are tailored to meet students at their level, from complete beginners to advanced learners preparing for VCE Spanish.
